The word hydroponics been derived from the Green world "Water Working", is directed to growing plants without soil (Hydro means water and Ponic means working). Hydroponics is the science of soiless growing of plants in nutrient rich solutions. It is a technique where the physiological requirements of plants can be met without use of soil and natural sunlight. In conventional system, seed start germinating when it gets favorable conditions (like: Water, Air, Temperature and Light) maximum energy is utilized by the seed in search of nutrient by developing radical (roots), very less amount of energy is utilized for the growth of the plumule (shoot). In hydroponics, favourable conditions are provided to the seed and food is directly supplied to the plumule, so the maximum energy is utilized in the growth of the plumule rather than in developing radical in search of nutrient. Hydroponics techniques have proven itself to be very useful and efficient for producing food for livestock. The advantages of hydroponics agriculture include control over plant nutrition and therefore increased production, stable harvests of high quality fresh feeds which is available all the year and can be produced on an industrial scale; the food that is available is free from undesirable materials such as weeds, insects, dust, insecticides, germicides, carcinogens and radioactive substances. Hydroponics culture is probably the most intensive method of crop production in today's agricultural industry. With the possibility of adjusting air and root temperature, light, water, plant nutrition and adverse climate, hydroponics agriculture can be made highly productive, conservative of water and land and protective of the environment. With Ayurvet's ProGreen, uncontaminated, consistent and succulent green feed is available 365 days of the year regardless of location or weather. In Ayurvet's Hydroponics machine*, green feeds are grown in controlled environmental conditions with a temperature range of 15°C - 32°C and a relative humidity of 80-85%. Green feed is grown in multilayer shelves. Natural light is let in through suitably glazed windows. Ayurvet's Hydroponics machine has successfully produced Wheat and Paddy nursery in the system. Bio conversion ratio was found to be 6-8 times. Specially prepared nutrient "NUTROSOL" and herbal solution "HERBOSOL" are used for the growth of plants and seed treatment respectively. Advantages includes - 1. Saving of water -- It takes just 2-3 ltrs of water to produce 1 Kg of green feed as compared with 80-9o litre/kg required in conventional system. 2. Marginal land usage -- On an average it requires less than 1/15th of the space needed by conventional agriculture to grow same amount of produce. 3. Reduction in growth time -- The growing time of hydroponics plants takes as little as 7 days from seed germination to a fully --grown plant at a height of 25.30 cm, ready for harvest. Also, the biomass conversion ratio is as high as 6-8 times under optimum conditions. 4. Reduced labour requirement -- This process of growing cattle feed requires minimal man-hour ratio per day. It is as little as 2 to 3 hours per day, needed to maintain & produce hydroponics green feed, as compared to the many hours of intense labour required for growing the same amount of feed as a pasture crop. 5. Constant feed supply- With our hydroponics machine, a consistent supply of green feed is guaranteed 365 days of the year. 6. Enhancement of nutritional value -- Hydroponic green feed is a highly effective particularly nutritious feed, which produces 3 times more protein as compared to conventional content. It has high energy content, Vitamin A & E content and very high moisture content. 7. Completely natural -- There are no pesticides or fungicides used for cultivation of crop and feed.

You can learn how to grow the best wheatgrass, and live your best life all through the Life Transformation Program offered at Hippocrates Health Institute. Request more information about our 3 week wellness retreat here: http://hippocratesinst.org/life-transformation-program-2 How To Grow The Best Wheatgrass - Top Tips for Growing Wheatgrass at Home http://hippocratesinst.org/living-food/how-to-grow-wheatgrass - You can spend as little as $1 per week to grow your own wheatgrass juice at home. All you need is a wheatgrass juicer and growing supplies. Our goal at Hippocrates is to make following this lifestyle at home as easy as possible; as such, the Hippocrates store has everything you need to begin growing right away, including seeds, planting trays, juicers, hydro-sol growing racks, full spectrum lighting. You can get our "How to Grow Wheatgrasstwo-hour DVD" here: http://www.hippocratesstore.org/root/grow-your-own-living-foods-dvd-with-brian-hetrich.htm Growing Basics 1. Soak your hard winter wheat seed (also called wheat berries) overnight (8 to 12 hours). 2. Sprout the seed in a jar for the next 16 to 24 hours, rinsing the seed well three times a day. 3. After a very short “tail” is visible, plant the seed on top of the soil. Basic potting mix or topsoil will work fine. Peat moss is an important ingredient to look for in your soil so if you have to add it, the mix is one part peat moss to three parts soil, filled halfway up a two-inch deep tray. 4. Water the tray and then cover the seeds to keep them from drying out for the first three days. 5. During the first three days of growth, water once a day in the morning and really soak the soil (until the tray drips is a good sign you are watering enough). Then lightly mist your seed in the evening (lift cover off to mist seed). 6. On the fourth day, uncover grass (roots should begin to take over your soil), water heavily once a day and keep the grass in the shade (never direct sunlight). 7. For mold problems, increase your air circulation with a fan or air conditioning to keep the temperature between 60 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit (21° to 26° Celsius). 8. Harvest grass when a second blade of grass appears on the grass blades, or when the grass “splits” toward the bottom of the blade. Average growing time is seven to 12 days, depending on the weather, but still always watch for the second blade of grass as you can never judge by how many days it has been growing or how tall the grass is. 9. Only harvest once. Cut grass will store in the fridge for about seven to 10 days or longer in Green Bags. Then start the process all over again with new seeds and soil. Official Site: http://www.strainhunters.com http://www.greenhouseseeds.nl Facebook http://facebook.com/greenhouseseeds & http://facebook.com/strainhunters.official Music by: Marlon Parkes aka Bobo Shanty https://marlonparkes.wordpress.com/ Here we go again! We board a flight from Amsterdam and in 9 hours we are in the Caribbean. After a layover of just a couple of hours on Curacao, we fly on to Jamaica. We land in Kingston around 11 am local time. The air is hot, but not too humid. We have a 3 hours layover, so we decide to get out of the airport and go have lunch in Port Royal, half an hour away on the coast. It's a bit of a ghost-town, once a very rich merchant harbor, destroyed at the end of the seventeenth century by a powerful earthquake. It looks like it never really recovered… We eat lunch in a small fish-restaurant, famous for its snapper. But I eat jerk chicken because I am picky with my fish, and the jerk-spices here are amazing! Of course we drink some Red Stripe beers, and Simon and myself decide it's time to find some weed. It does not take long before we hit the jackpot: literally on the side of the local Police station, along the seaside, there are some barracks and shacks; inside a group of Rastas is busy cleaning and chopping weed and rolling it up in small balls, using rolling papers as containers. We ask if we can buy some, and the guys are thrilled. It's cheap, less than 1 Euro per gram. But it's a bit bitter, very leafy, and we enjoy it just because it's been a while since we smoked in Amsterdam! Some of the Rastas in the back are smoking crack cocaine in a glass pipe, the smell is terribly sour. They ask if we like some, and we politely tell them we are just here for the ganja; they nod, and scream "Jah Rastafari"! We sit and smoke a joint with them, and chat a bit about the local weed, and the cops. It's incredible that this is all happening next to the Police station. We leave as soon as the joint is over, and we go back to the restaurant to join the rest of the crew. It's time to get back to the airport and catch a Jamaican Airlines flight to Montego Bay, where our local contacts are waiting. The flight is really short, under half hour, and we arrive in MoBay before sunset. Bigga, Shanti, Nampo and Taleban are waiting for us and it's great to see them again; Arjan and myself spent some crazy days with these guys not long ago, during our scouting trips on the island. These guys are a tight crew, and they are going to take care of us during the next days of this filming trip. Nampo is a older Rasta, wise man, with lots of contacts and very respected. Taleban, his friend, is a grower and a smuggler, a real pirate and one of the funniest guys we ever had with us during our expeditions. Bigga is our driver/bodyguard, he's a man of the road and he knows who and what you need to know to keep us safe. Shanti is a local singer, a reggae artist with an amazing talent and a great personality. I know him since he was 10 years old, back in 1994, when I spent a few weeks near where he lived with his father (the man supplying me with fine herb at the time). It was really special to find Shanti during our scouting trips back in July, he's now a grown up man… and I am getting old! Shanti will come along and make sure the soundtrack of our travels is inspiring and inspired. We get the cars, two Toyota Fortuner, and we load up the mountain of gear we are carrying. Then we drive down to Negril in the sunset light, and when we arrive it's already dark. We decide to spend the first night at the Blue Cave Castle, a really cozy place on the rocky cliffs of Negril. It's another true 1994-flashback for me, this is one of the places where I stayed when I was a 20-years-old ganja-traveler, already a Strain Hunter without knowing it…. Of course to make the flashback even more intense the same room where I slept then is available, so I take it. It still looks the same. We are tired from the long travel, and we decide to go for some food. Unfortunately the chef is sick, so we decide to find something not too far away. We hit a jerk-chicken stand by the side of the road and we eat like there's no tomorrow. After a few Red Stripes and a few joints we go back to the hotel, where we smoke some good amount of high-grade weed, and some "gum", the local finger-hash. The weed is definitely an indica-cross, it tastes sweet and strong, and they say it's from a site not too far from where we are. We make a plan for tomorrow, and we go to sleep. Jamaica is great. It's a true privilege to be here again. Jah Bless! And now we are back with MisterX pics, the man is a true artist..... enjoy! Concerns over China's food safety have made organic vegetables and fruit more and more popular among Chinese consumers. But organic food costs three to five times more than the price of regular produce. So some Shanghai residents are turning to a new farming business model, that allows them to adopt a plot of farmland and grow their own organic greens. Channel NewsAsia's Shanghai correspondent caught up with these farmers.
